“Dojo Day Afternoon” – When Arthur, the obnoxious son of the owner of the mall, joins the Bobby Wasabi dojo, Rudy tries his best to appease him. But Arthur rubs everyone the wrong way, and after an altercation with Jack, Arthur’s dad insists that Rudy kick Jack out of the dojo or he will bring in a wrecking ball and turn the dojo into a parking lot. In protest, Rudy chains himself inside the dojo in a stand-off with the wrecking ball. Meanwhile, Kim tries to prove her journalistic ability at the school TV’s station and Milton crawls through an air duct to the nail salon on a quest for snacks, in a new episode of “Kickin’ It,” THURSDAY, JUNE 16 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney XD.

“Kickin’ It” stars Jason Earles as Rudy, Leo Howard as Jack, Mateo Arias as Jerry, Dylan Riley Snyder as Milton, Alex Christian Jones as Eddie and Olivia Holt as Kim.

“Dojo Day Afternoon” was written by Jim O’Doherty and was directed by Eric Dean Seaton.

“Kickin’ It” carries a TV-Y7 parental guideline.

The Wannabes Partners with Showcase Entertainment For Kids
THE WOODLANDS, Texas — Showcase Entertainment’s Showcase For Kids family line has acquired the worldwide rights to the 26-episode tween comedy series, “The Wannabes,” starring Savvy.
Savvy is a Woodlands-based multi-cultural singing/dance group. The show will focus on a group of kids attending a stuffy arts prep school who go to extraordinary means to fulfill their dreams of becoming pop stars. The series is created, written and co-produced by Doreen Spicer whose writing credits include Disney Channel’s hit movie, “Jump In!” and “The Proud Family.” The series will be directed by Eric Dean Seaton (“That’s So Raven,” “Suite Life of Zack & Cody,” “Cory in the House”).
“Based on the overwhelming response from buyers at MIP Jr., we know we’ve got something truly special. We look forward to partnering with Showcase to bring ‘The Wannabes’ to kids all over the world,” said series co-producer Christine LeMaire of Stern-LeMaire Productions, Inc. David Jackson, president of Showcase concurred saying, “Our international partners are going to love these kids, and we’re excited to get started. ‘The Wannabes’ is the first live-action series we’ve been excited about since the success of our own series, ‘Flight 29 Down.’”

Super RTL picks up ‘The Wannabes’

German kids channel acquires live-action comedy

BERLIN — German kids channel Super RTL has picked up free TV rights to live-action comedy “The Wannabes” from Showcase Entertainment.

Created by Doreen Spicer, who wrote the screenplay to the Disney Channel’s hit movie “Jump In!,” “Wannabes” follows a group of kids attending an uptight arts academy who really want to become pop stars. Showcase unveiled the series to buyers at NATPE.

Production on the first 26×30 season begins this month, with Eric Dean Seaton (”Sonny with a Chance”) directing. Delivery is set for the first quarter of 2010.
